As I’ve pointed out elsewhere, just as variations exist in the mythos of characters like the Good Shepherd in which one can find a version where he was virgin born and versions in which he was born of sexual copulation and even versions in which he was never born at all but simply always existed or just appeared full form out of heaven, so too do several variations exist regarding the nativity of Osiris. But this is the season when other significant mythological archetypes are celebrated, and fervently debated, not the least of which is that of virgin birth.
